Northeastern uses printing software called PaperCut for faculty, staff, and students to send print jobs to PaperCut printers. With PaperCut, you will be able to print from a diverse range of devices, release printed materials more quickly, print with or without a Husky Card, and use a web-based print portal for more visibility and control.

Northeastern Printing Plan

At the start of the academic year, members of the Northeastern community receive $120 worth of printing credits on their Husky Cards that can be used at various color and black & white printers across campus. The non-refundable annual credit does not roll over from year to year, and when your balance hits $0.00, the printing system will default to using Husky Dollars.

All jobs sent to the printing queues are available to print for 12 hours. Cost is determined on a per page basis, and varies depending on the type of printer used and the size of the paper.

Note: It is important that the job you send is selected to be the appropriate paper size of the printer. The print job will fail if it does not match and an email notification will be sent.

Tap-to-print locations by queue:

There are six types of printers available on campus:

  • PaperCut black and white letter 8.5×11

  • PaperCut black and white tabloid 11×17

  • PaperCut color letter 8.5×11

  • PaperCut color tabloid 11×17

  • PaperCut multi-function

Note: PaperCut multi-function printers are able to print any print job sent to both color and black & white of the 8.5 x 11 and 11 x 17 printers.
  • Plotter printers

Note: The plotter printers are meant to be used for prints larger than 11×17 and they use Husky Dollars to print from. Size limitations are set on our other printers so using your personal device to print to the plotter may not allow you to change with a custom size. If you experience this, please use an imaged machine on the first floor. If you are having trouble, visit the IT Customer Service Desk in Snell library so a staff member can assist you.
